FIRST ALERT: High chance of development in the Gulf
MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - We now have a HIGH chance of development in the Gulf over the next week. A surface trough of low pressure has developed along the coast of Mexico in the southwestern Gulf. Although environmental conditions appear to be marginally conducive, gradual development is becoming more likely, and a tropical depression is likely to form during the middle or latter portion of the week. This system is expected to drift eastward over the next few days, before it turns northward.

Wedge Boundary Pushes Rain South Near I-20 Toward Atlanta, Charleston, and Savannah Sunday Leaving Charlotte and Columbia Much Cooler and Mostly Dry
COLUMBIA, SC — A wedge boundary pushed much farther south overnight, taking the main focus for rain with it toward Interstate 20 and the coast. Some areas will see expected rainfall totals cut in half, while others may get very little additional rain at all. One last surge of showers is possible later this evening, but most of the region should stay dry Sunday. Cooler air pushing in from the northeast is also making temperatures noticeably cooler underneath the wedge.
