UM lifts active shooter lockdown, UMPD chief is confident threat is "a hoax"
At 8:33 p.m., a heavily armed police presence arrived on campus to respond to an active shooter threat that has now been deemed a hoax by University of Montana police. The University of Montana Police Department Chief Brad Giffin said a person called 911 threatening to commit a shooting in Aber Hall.
