FIRST WARN FORECAST: Record warmth Sunday afternoon, warm & breezy on Monday
Sunday afternoon sure felt like early summer with all of us making it to the upper 70s and lower 80s. Wind gusts exceeded 40 mph in spots. The wind will relax a touch, but still stay pretty gusty into the overnight. Fire danger remains high, so burning is not advised. We are expecting gusty conditions again on Monday, but highs stay in the 70s! This will be our last super warm day before a front comes in Monday night. Ahead of that front, an isolated shower or thunderstorm will be possible in the peak afternoon heat. The better chance for severe weather is going to stay just to the east/southeast of the viewing area. Those of you in Pettis and Benton counties are on the very edge of the marginal risk for severe weather. If a storm gets going, low end severe hail and low end severe wind gusts would be the hazards. Many of us will stay dry. With the passing of the cold front Monday night, temperatures turn a touch cooler Tuesday and Wednesday with lower 60s in store, but we look dry.
