NEWARK, NJ – Two Jersey City men have been charged for their involvement in a neighborhood street gang that distributed cocaine and heroin, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger announced earlier this week.. Anthony Phillips, 31, also known as "Ant" or "Little Ant," and Shannon Tisdale, 32, known as "Doonk," were arrested and charged for their roles in drug distribution. N.J. surgeon admits prescribing painkillers to patients who didn’t need them
A New Jersey doctor has pleaded guilty to federal charges of illegally prescribing opioid painkillers. Evangelos Megariotis, 72, of Clifton, admitted to seven counts of unlawful distribution of controlled substances in Newark federal court on Tuesday, the U.S. Attorney’s Office District of New Jersey said in a news release. An indictment originally charged him with 34 counts of the crime.
