It happened before dawn at a service garage on East 65th Street. It’s a big garage that crews use for heavy equipment involved in snow plowing, patching potholes and more.
We’ve learned the supervisor was shot twice and sent to the hospital.
Multiple sources say a woman walked into the garage, then opened fire. Police said they took a woman into custody.
On Friday, the Fox 8 I-Team learned that there are no charges yet on the suspect, but she is being held under investigation for the shooting, robbery and tampering with evidence.
A union leader with Laborers Local 860 spoke out.
“Our prayers are with the family and himself, and we hope for a speedy recovery to get back to work. But, it is tragic,” Bobby Mendel said. “It’s bothersome that our members are vulnerable. All city employees. Anyone, at any given time, can walk up into a city garage and do something like this.”
