Highly Touted DE Arrives at Clemson - Top-150 talent arrives a few weeks ahead of fall camp

Another one of Clemson’s midyear enrollees has arrived on campus.

4-star DE Darien Mayo has enrolled for the summer semester and officially arrived at the school on Monday.

The 6-foot-7, 256-pound prospect (Good Counsel, Olney, Md) ranked as high as No. 114 overall and No. 10 among all defensive ends.

Mayo gets to campus several weeks ahead of the start of fall camp, which allows him to go ahead and get started the strength and conditioning program.

“That helps a lot to be able to put on good weight and be physically ready when fall camp starts,” Mayo told The Clemson Insider. “I am just ready to compete. Get to know my teammates and be ready when my number is called.”

Mayo joins a defensive end room that already features Peter Woods and TJ Parker, as well as Cade Denhoff, who gives the group a veteran presence.

5-star WR TJ Moore is another midyear that has enrolled for summer school and arrived on campus over the weekend . 3-star LB CJ Kubah-Taylor is also enrolled for the summer semester, but no official word on if he has arrived yet.
