U.S. 50 reopens following motorcycle wreck that hospitalized 1

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — A two-vehicle accident involving a motorcycle shut down the westbound lanes of U.S. Route 50 Friday night and sent one person to the hospital.

According to an official with the Harrison County 911 Center, at around 9:03 p.m., crews were alerted to a vehicle accident with injuries on U.S. Route 50 near the 2nd Street exit in Clarksburg.

Officials release name of driver killed in Monongalia County crash

Crews on scene confirmed that a motorcycle was involved, and they transported one person to United Hospital Center in Bridgeport. Their condition and the status of the other vehicle are unknown at this time.

The 911 official told 12 News that U.S. 50 reopened around 10:20 p.m.

Crews from the Bridgeport Police Department, Clarksburg Police Department, Clarksburg Fire Department, Harrison County EMS, Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, West Virginia State Police and the West Virginia Division of Highways all responded to this call.
