Caldwell Parish, LA (KPEL News) - The Louisiana Wildlife Commission will consider implementing a black bear hunting season when it meets on Thursday, November 2nd. The black bear population has nearly doubled in the state in less than 10 years. One of my best friends can certainly attest to that fact, since this lady was locked and loaded, and sent the bear scampering!

A pedestrian died in a single-vehicle accident in Ouachita Parish, Louisiana, on December 1, 2023. The Louisiana State Police Troop F stated the incident happened just before 10:00 p.m. on LA-594 near Radar Drive. The victim was 63-year-old Gregory Moore from Monroe.

WINNFIELD, La. (KALB) - A Winnfield man was killed in a two-vehicle crash on November 29 around 5:40 a.m. on East Lafayette Street in Winnfield. Dale Kenney, 35, was driving a pickup truck in the westbound lane, when he veered into the eastbound lane, in the path of an oncoming 18-wheeler. The two vehicles collided head-on.

The Louisiana State Police Troop F investigated the incident, which occurred on November 30, 2023. The accident involved a 2021 Toyota Tacoma, a 2017 Dodge Ram, and Mckeever's bicycle.

WINNFIELD, La. (KNOE) - Two brothers who are victims of a Winnfield shooting say they want justice. Nolan Griffin, 23, of Dodson, was charged with attempted second-degree murder, aggravated assault with a firearm, illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities and two counts of hate crimes on Nov. 8, 2023. According to Winnfield police, he shot at two brothers - striking both of their trucks in the back of the windshield. One of them is still healing from bullet wounds.
