City of Cheboygan Seeks Proposals for Professional Services for Local River & Children's Trail Project
The City of Cheboygan is seeking proposals for Prime Professional Services. They need a licensed landscape architect, architect, or engineer. This professional will serve as the Professional Services Contractor (PSC) for a specific project. The project is the Universal Access to Cheboygan River & Children’s Trail – Phase II. Proposals must be submitted by March 28, 2024.

Cheboygan council OKs new three-year contract for city manager
CHEBOYGAN — City council approved a new three-year contract for Cheboygan City Manager Dan Sabolsky on Wednesday that will begin on June 1. Council members Adam Bedwin, Hayley Dodd, Ken Kwiatkowski, Diane Mills and Mayor Brett Mallory voted yes on the motion while Mary Darling and Diane Raab dissented. The new contract covers a three-year period until June 1, 2027 and calls for a salary of $105,000 in the first year, $110,000 in the second year and $115,000 in the third year.

Buckley beats Mackinac Island, as the Lakers make the long trip downstate
BUCKLEY - The Buckley Bears beat the Mackinac Island Lakers 52-23 as both teams wrapped up their regular seasons on Thursday night. For the Lakers this was their most southern trip for a game that the school’s athletic director, Christina Alexander had experienced. “We actually took one of the ferry boats through the straits of Mackinac to St. Ignace, and then our school bus picked us up in St. Ignace and we took our school bus down here to Buckley.” Said Alexander. ”We left the island at about 2:00 today. Got to Buckley at 6:30. We did have a stop for dinner. We did stop at Chick-Fil-A on the way. It’s a special treat for the girls.” Mackinac Island will begin their district matchup against Petoskey St. Micheal, while Buckley will take on Mesick.
