Illinois Man Arrested for Burglary
Knox County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Bridgeport, Illinois man on a single warrant for burglary. The warrant was filed in Knox Superior Court One for a June 6th incident. 47 year-old Jesse Boatwright was booked into the Knox County Jail on ten-thousand dollars bond.

NOBLE VILLAGE BOARD MEETING MONDAY NIGHT (11/27/2023)
(NOBLE) The Noble Village Board met in regular session this past Monday night. The Board : approved the payment of all bills as presented : approved an ordinance to amend and raise the Village’s sewer rates by 10% effective immediately and by 5% for the next five years beginning in 2025 : discussed obtaining a grant for the needed sewer lagoon improvement work with Greater Wabash Regional Planning Commission, but agreed not to contribute extra funds to receive a higher rating – a public hearing will be held December 18th with a special meeting to follow concerning the grant : approved the first payment request for $71,550 for the new Noble Village Park restrooms to be paid out of Richland County ARPA funds : took no action on the annual contribution request for the Richland County Development Corporation : noted the final day of the Village’s leaf collection program is tomorrow (11/30/23) : noted the Village’s Tax Levy ordinance will be presented at the next meeting : noted the Village’s Christmas Party will be held December 7th : and noted the 2nd Village Board meeting in December has been cancelled : next meeting is December 11th.

OLNEY CITY COUNCIL MEETING (11/27/2023)
(OLNEY) The Olney City Council met last night for a regular bi-monthly meeting. The Council : approved the payment of all bills as presented : approved the sale of city-owned property by bids – $5,000 for 410 East Main Street, $550 for 602 West Lafayette Street, and $150 for 926 West Elm Street : agreed to issue a Class C Liquor License to Hovey’s Diner in Olney and then agreed to add that license to the City of Olney’s Municipal Code : heard various presentations on the City’s Police and Firefighters Pension funds : discussed the City of Olney’s Tax Levy numbers : agreed to utilize STU funds through IDOT for the future improvement work and repaving of North Street, from Whittle Avenue to East Street : agreed to sell an 8×10 portable shed from the City’s Water Plant : and took no action after a closed session to discuss real property and personnel : next meeting will be December 11th.
LOCAL CHRISTMAS FESTIVITIES
(OLNEY) The Annual Carle Hospice Festival of Trees fundraiser & bake sale is this weekend and will be held in the private dining rooms on the lower level of Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney. The two day event will began throughout the day this coming Friday, December 1st, from 8:00 to 4:30, and then finish up Saturday morning, December 2nd, from 8:00 to 12:00 noon. The event will include a wide array of mini trees and gift baskets up for silent auction with the highest bids declared the winners at noon on Saturday. All proceeds go in support of Hospice and its mission to provide comfort care to patients in our region.
Knox County man sentenced for 2021 Valentine's Day attempted murder
KNOX COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) - A man in Knox County learned his fate after he was convicted of attempted murder earlier this year. In late October, a jury found James Birge, 34, of Oaktown, guilty of a shooting that happened on Valentine's Day in 2021. Birge's sentence is for a total of 45 years.

Vincennes Police Department Expanding
