One killed in crash near Verbena Sunday evening
A Verbena man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Sunday evening. 41-year-old Phillip L. Williams of Verbena was driving a 2023 Volkswagen Atlas that hit the rear of a 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by 35-year-old Kayla Montgomery of Jemison. After the collision, the Volkswagen overturned. Williams was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was thrown from the vehicle.
Execution date set for Alabama man convicted of killing driver at ATM
The execution date for a man convicted in the 1998 fatal shooting of a delivery driver who had stopped at an ATM has been set for July 18, Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey announced Thursday.
