Former Pitt star Paris Ford turns himself in

UPDATE: Paris Ford has turned himself into police.

Former Pitt safety Paris Ford is wanted by Allegheny County Police in connection with a shooting in Clairton.

Officer say shots were fired into a residence in the 800 block of 3 rd Street, around 11:40 a.m. on March 15.

A short time later, Whitehall and Brentwood Police found a vehicle on Route 51 that was reportedly used by a suspect.

After a traffic stop, three men ran from the vehicle, one was arrested, two fled the scene.

About a half hour after that a vehicle was located in Bethel Park. Police started to peruse the vehicle, which lost control and crashed near Library and Clifton Roads. Two males were taken into custody after a foot chase.

Three suspects were charged, one was released.

After further investigation, detectives identified 25-year-old Paris Ford a suspect who fled the first traffic stop on 51, through surveillance footage.

Ford is charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and more.

He is 6-foot-1, 190-pounds. Anyone with any information on Ford is asked to call County Police at 1-833-ALL-TIPS.

Ford was a defensive back at Pitt from 2018-2020. Prior to that, he played high school football at Steel Valley.

He signed, undrafted by the Los Angeles Rams, but was waived before the season started.

Ford was also a member of the now defunct New Jersey Generals of the USFL.
