A Wildwood woman was jailed on a driving offense after skipping a court date. Jennifer Noelia Nieves, 36, was driving a black GMC Terrain at about 8 a.m. Sunday on U.S. 301 when an officer ran the license plate and found the vehicle’s registered owner has a suspended license, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department.
DUI suspect arrested in vehicle with shredded tire in The Villages
A woman was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence after she was was found in a vehicle with a shredded tire. Alice Leigh Seibert, 52, was found in a black 2019 Jeep Cherokee with Alabama license plates in the early morning hours Saturday in the area of St. Charles Place and Pennecamp Drive in the Village of Pennecamp, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle’s hazard lights were flashing and the front driver’s side tire was “completely ripped away from the rim,” the report said.
Stonecrester to escape prosecution in series of Walmart theft cases
A Stonecrester is poised to escape prosecution in a series of Walmart theft cases. Brenda Carol Yonkman, 61, agreed this past month to enter into a pre-trial intervention contract which will enable her to avoid prosecution in the case. She must make restitution to Walmart and cannot return to the store. She must also complete a shoplifter’s course and perform 100 hours of community service.

A Del Webb Spruce Creek man riding a dirt bike fled across the county line to evade arrest while being chased by a Marion County sheriff’s deputy. Kyle Fredrick Klug, 42, who lives at 9029 SE 13th Loop in the gated community in Summerfield, was riding the unregistered dirt bike at 3:45 a.m. Sunday on SE Hwy. 42, according to an arrest report. A deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop because the dirt bike did not have proper lighting and did not have a license plate.
