Amarius Mims walked into Paycor Stadium for the second time this month Friday afternoon to be introduced as the Cincinnati Bengals' first round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. He was not the only offensive tackle in the building.

Bengals starting left tackle and unofficial team ambassador Orlando Brown Jr. was a part of the welcome committee for Mims following the rookie's introductory press conference. To make him feel more at home, Brown is also taking Mims out for a steak dinner.

Brown has made an emphasis on being a part of the Bengals in so many more ways than blocking for quarterback Joe Burrow. He's extremely active in the community, helps with the team's social media content, and is clearly a veteran leader on the team.

Going out of his way to introduce himself to his newest teammate falls directly in line with all of that.

Brown was eager to see Mims, and Mims is eager to get to know Brown, and fellow teammate Trent Brown for that matter.

"Both of those guys are used to winning," Mims said of the two Brown's . "Both of those guys have won Super Bowls, and it's just like I said I'm looking forward to them taking me under their wing, learn from them as much as possible."

While Brown Jr. is set to hold down the left tackle spot through the 2026 season, the older Brown is slated start the entire 2024 season at right tackle. Mims will be cross-training at both spots as he awaits his turn to take over at his natural right tackle position.

It'll be Brown Jr. and Mims who represent the future of the tackle position. They're getting started on that future as soon as possible.
