Squaws stymied by Cardinals
Jourdanton and Columbus were neck-and-neck through both games of their regional quarterfinal series. With two outs and no runners on in the bottom of the sixth in Game 2, the Cardinals rallied off a trio of runs to win 5-2 and put a cap on the Squaws (29-9-1) season Saturday evening.
Eagles unable to fend off comeback
The Pleasanton Eagles baseball team concluded their season on the diamond Saturday following a tough series against Bishop. After dominating the series opener Friday night, Pleasanton was separated by just a run in Games 2 and 3. It was the only time all season the Eagles (30-6) fell in backto back contests.

The all-girl Poteet High School racing team zoomed into third place at the 2024 Alamo City Electrathon (ACE) Race held on April 19. With the vision to generate excitement and awareness of vocational opportunities associated with Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), the competition took place at the Freeman Coliseum Expo Hall in San Antonio.
