Nor'easter could bring rain, strong winds to NH Seacoast, Maine

A September nor'easter is expected to hit New England by the end of the week, bringing heavy rain and strong winds to the region. The coastal storm could reach New Hampshire and Maine early Friday, Sept. 25, then intensify heading into the weekend, according to the National Weather Service. While the storm isn't expected to be as severe up north as it could be in southern New England, it could still "bring a myriad of hazards," the NWS office in Gray, Maine, said in an online forecast discussion . "We've seen models from a 'glancing blow' bringing high waves and pretty hazardous marine conditions offshore to a closer storm that could bring potentially heavy rainfall and strong winds at the coast," said Cameron Barker, a meteorologist at the NWS office in Gray. The storm's exact track remains uncertain , making it difficult to know the full extent and timing of its impacts, Barker said. "The goalposts are still pretty large at this point," Barker said.
