Traffic Delays Anticipated On Tuolumne Road
Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne Utilities District reminds travelers that 15-minute delays should be anticipated on Tuolumne Road today. The district will be doing sanitary sewer flushing work from 8 am – 3 pm (Thursday, April 25). The work area is between Mono Way and Hess Avenue. Travelers are urged to take alternate routes if possible.
Update: Curtis Creek No Longer On Lockdown
Update at 2:45 p.m.: Curtis Creek Elementary School is no longer on lockdown after a suspicious person was reported on campus. The school reported that a student made a false report and is being dealt with, and all classes resumed after Tuolumne County Sheriff’s deputies made a sweep of the campus.
Crash Ends With Sonora Man’s Arrest
Columbia, CA – Three people were injured in a rollover crash on Italian Bar Road in the Columbia area of Tuolumne County. The collision happened recently north of Baxter Quarry Road. The driver, 51-year-old Matthew Johnson, and his two passengers, 35-year-old Noelle Orr and 54-year-old Allan Sinseros, all from Sonora, were in a 1994 Chevrolet pickup southbound on Italian Bar Road. CHP spokesperson Officer Steve Machado detailed, “The truck was going about 15 miles per hour when Johnson allowed the vehicle to travel off the road, where it overturned onto a steep embankment.” The three occupants sustained minor injuries in the collision.
End of April Parades, Plays and More Mother Lode Events
There is a dog parade, a mutt march and more events happening this weekend. The ‘Who Let The Dogs Out’ Parade will take place at 11 am on Saturday in Twain Harte. The family event is open to dogs trained to walk on a leash who are socially friendly. Parade registration begins at 10 am and there will be awards for best dressed dog, best trick performer and more. Proceeds for the event go to help Friends of the Animal Community (FOAC) as detailed here.
