Manny’s Mexican Kitchen Debuts In Richardson With “More Mex, Less Tex” Menu
The family behind the suburban staple Manny’s Tex-Mex is taking a detour from the standard baskets of chips and yellow cheese. At CityLine in Richardson, they’ve unveiled Manny’s Mexican Kitchen, an elevated concept that intentionally leaves the "Tex" behind to focus on the traditional, soulful flavors of interior Mexico. Located at 1250 State St., the new 5,115-square-foot restaurant trades predictable combo plates for a "More Mex, Less Tex" philosophy, aiming to bridge the gap between casual neighborhood dining and refined regional cuisine. What To Expect While the original Manny’s established itself in 2005 with classic border-style favorites, this new kitchen focuses on the roots of the family's recipes. The menu highlights slow-braised meats and regional specialties that prioritize bold, complex spices over standard Tex-Mex staples. Standout traditional dishes include: Slow-Braised Specialties: Tender pasilla short rib and the chamorro en adobo (braised pork shank). Authentic Staples: Michoacan-style carnitas and house-made quesabirria tacos. Soulful Sides: Pork belly en salsa verde and crunchy chicharron norteño. “With this new concept opening at CityLine, we want to showcase our roots with more traditional recipes from Mexico and reintroduce the vibrant atmosphere of the first Manny’s,” said Nicole Hernandez, office administrator at Manny’s Mexican Kitchen. “It’s

Celebration Restaurant Temporarily Closed for an Upgrade *Now Reopen*
Celebration Restaurant has managed something rare: staying relevant by barely changing at all. The West Lovers Lane institution has been serving Dallas diners since 1971, building a loyal following around home-style cooking, local ingredients, and a setting that feels closer to a neighborhood gathering place than a typical restaurant. Now, after more than five decades in business, Celebration is undergoing a remodel with plans to reopen soon—refreshing the space while preserving the spirit that made it a Dallas classic. The upgrade was to be finished by March 1, 2026, but that has been pushed just a bit.

Flying Fish expands Plano presence to second location
Flying Fish , a fast-casual seafood eatery known for its "Billy Bass Adoption Wall," has opened a second location in Plano, with a grand opening ceremony planned for March 12. Inspired by East Texas seafood joints on Caddo Lake and other waterways, Flying Fish was founded in 2002 by Shannon Wynne and Larry Richardson. The restaurant has since grown to 11 locations across Texas, Arkansas and Tennessee. With the new Plano restaurant, Flying Fish expands its presence across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, joining existing locations in Addison, Arlington, Coppell, Garland, Fort Worth, Dallas and Irving. The menu features surf-and-turf favorites including po'boy sandwiches, fried fish fillets, hot chicken sandwiches, vegetarian options and house-made desserts such as key lime pie and bread pudding. The restaurant's signature decor — the "Billy Bass Adoption Wall" and the "Liars Wall" — allows customers to contribute mounted fish and fishing photos. In a previous interview with Star Local Media , Richardson said he looks for decor that is affordable and engaging, noting the walls help bring customers back. "Our customers bring in their Billy Bass, and we put it up on the wall, give them an adoption certificate and a free basket of catfish," Richardson
