SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Two suspects have been arrested following the investigation of a deadly shooting incident on I-391 in Chicopee.

One person died after drive-by shooting on I-391 in Chicopee

According to the Hampden DA’s Office, on the evening of March 12, a vehicle carrying multiple individuals arrived at Baystate Medical Center, with some passengers suffering from gunshot wounds.

One of the victims, identified as Guyton Winspeare , a 35-year-old man from Chicopee, died from his injuries. Despite the arrival of survivors at the hospital, their lack of cooperation initially hindered the investigation’s progress in locating the crime scene.

Investigators were able to pinpoint a scene the following morning on I-391 South between exits 3 and 4. The investigation, led by the Massachusetts State Police (MSP) Detective Unit assigned to the Hampden DA’s Office, has since made significant headway. Throughout the investigation, probable cause was established for the involvement of two individuals in the homicide.
