Two men break into home, steal items and attack the victim, one suspect gets shot: Police

CHICAGO (WTVO) — A man was shot after breaking into a home and attacking the owner on Chicago’s South Side Tuesday afternoon, according to Chicago Police.

Two suspects entered a home by force around 1:54 p.m. in the 8000 block of South Carpenter Street that was inhabited by one man and two women, police told FOX32 .

Both of the men attacked the man inside the house before stealing items from the house, according to authorities.

They left on foot and soon after the incident one of them was shot in the body. The injured suspect was later taken to an area hospital in critical condition, officials said.

The other suspect, a 31-year-old male, was taken into custody.

The male victim who was attacked was taken to a hospital in the area for a slight injury.

Investigations are underway with Area Two detectives involved.
