JHHS comes close to first win against Rayville
Jonesboro-Hodge came close to winning their first game of the year this past Friday breaking out to a five run lead after two innings but Rayville came storming back to score 15 runs over the next three innings to saddle the Tigers with a third straight loss. JHHS rallied to score seven runs in the top of the fifth and sixth inning to narrow the final deficit to 15-12.

WINN PARISH, La. (KNOE) - Winn Parish Fire District has battled multiple fires this week according to their Facebook page. On Sunday, WMFD was called to a brush fire on Tannehill Rd. The Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry was called to help extinguish the fire. Authorities say the fire spread approximately 26.5 acres.

Lady Tigers drop district 3-2A opener
The youthful Jonesboro-Hodge softball team, made up primarily of freshmen and sophomores, got off to a slow start in district 3-2A play this past Thursday, falling to Red River 20-2 in the first contest played at the newly renovated Lady Tigers softball field. The loss dropped JHHS to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in district while Red River improved to 1-0 and 3-5 overall.
