Driver dies in head-on crash while passing vehicles on Kansas highway shoulder
CHANUTE, Kan. (KAKE) - A 40-year-old man has died following a head-on crash on a southeast Kansas highway on Monday. It happened just after 3 p.m. on U.S. 169 near 150th Road, which is about five miles south of Chanute. The Kansas Highway Patrol reports a southbound Chevrolet truck was passing vehicles on the northbound shoulder and collided head-on with a northbound SUV.
