Caney man facing attempted murder charge for shooting at vehicle
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Kan. (KAKE) – A Caney man is facing an attempted second-degree murder charge for allegedly shooting at a vehicle near Coffeyville over the weekend. Officers responded to a call regarding a shooting and a vehicle chasing another vehicle at US-166 and County Road 3500 around 8 p.m. Saturday. Montgomery County sheriff's deputies arrived on scene and spoke with an Oklahoma man who reported the shooting. The man told authorities that he was pursued by a black Dodge Challenger, and shots were fired at his vehicle, though he was not injured. He also gave a description of the Challenger, which was reportedly heading west.
