No body contacted advisory issued for Rotary Park on Lake White Cloud
WHITE CLOUD — On Friday, July 26, District Health Department #10 (DHD#10) was notified by Ferris State University that they collected bacterial samples from Rotary Park on Lake White Cloud that showed elevated E. coli levels. Children, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems are the most at risk. Flu-like symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal cramping, fever, and dehydration can occur from exposure to contaminated water. Upper respiratory illnesses, such as ear, nose, and throat infections, may also occur, in addition to skin infections if an open wound is not properly protected. Ferris State University will continue collect samples and results will be reported by Ferris State University and DHD#10 when available.

Let's face it, the bigger the city the richer they are, it's always been that way. Whether it be government wise where larger amounts of funding go to the bigger cities or if its companies and everyday businesses which pay out higher salaries. A lot of this stems from the higher cost of living and taxes in those areas, meaning people need more money to live and government needs to fund more programs and such.
Reed City Schools health clinic set for August opening
Family Health Care, a federally qualified health center that operates school-based clinics in Baldwin, Grant, and White Cloud has tentatively set a date in August for the opening of a new clinic at Reed City Area Public Schools.
Association of Black Judges of Michigan gathers at historic Idlewild for biennial retreat
A group of Black judges gathered this past weekend in Lake County in tribute to a pair of pioneers of their profession. Members of the Association of Black Judges of Michigan (ABJM) gathered at Idlewild from July 19 through July 21 for the Straker/Langster Judicial Education Retreat. Named in honor of D. Augustus Straker, Michigan’s first Black judge, and Percy J. Langster, Michigan’s and America’s first Black elected prosecutor, whose elected jurisdiction was Lake County, where the historic African-American community of Idlewild is located.
Mecosta-Osceola Transit Authority offers new service for non-emergency care
The Mecosta-Osceola County Transit Authority (MOTA) is pleased to offer a new service for residents within the two-county region they serve, with non-emergency medical transport. Mobility Director Marsha Cornelius believes this is a great program that will help those without transportation to meet their medical needs, that include rides to and from pharmacies to fill prescriptions as well!
