NASCAR lineup at Charlotte: Starting order, pole for 2024 Coca-Cola 600 based on qualifying results

There are few better traditions in racing than the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, when the Indy 500 gets the day started in Indianapolis and the Coca-Cola 600 closes it out in Charlotte.

This year, the two races have an even closer connection than usual.

The story of the day, at least at the start, will be Kyle Larson. Larson is looking to become just the second driver to complete the full 1,100 miles of the Indy 500 and Coca-Cola 600 in one day after qualifying to race in Indianapolis.

That's a tough enough feat on its own, and the weather in Indianapolis is doing him no favors. A stormy forecast could make it even more difficult for Larson to compete in both races.

Here's a look at the complete qualifying results ahead of the Coca-Cola 600, including the pole winner and starting order.

Who won the Coca-Cola 600 pole for 2024?

Ty Gibbs took home the pole for the Coca-Cola 600, outlasting William Byron and fellow Joe Gibbs racing driver Christopher Bell on Saturday.

It was a special moment for Gibbs, as the Coca-Cola 600 marks the first pole of his NASCAR Cup Series career. Gibbs beat out Byron by just 0.060 seconds, and the win made the 21-year-old the second-youngest driver in Coca-Cola 600 history to become the pole winner.

"I'm really excited for it, and hopefully, I can go out there and get my first win tomorrow," Gibbs said after the trials.

Martin Truex Jr. and Chase Elliott rounded out the top five in Saturday's qualifying run behind Gibbs, Byron and Bell.
