Two people, one of whom is a minor, were taken into custody Wednesday morning after a SWAT situation at a south Charlotte apartment complex. Police said both are suspects in a robbery last month.

Officers tried to arrest the pair on Arborgate Drive around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Chopper 9 Skyzoom flew overheard and spotted dozens of police officers and a SWAT truck. The scene cleared before noon Wednesday.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said one of the suspects surrendered initially, but the second tried to escape by hiding in the crawlspace of a building.

Police called in their SWAT team, who was able to find the second suspect and arrest him.

Investigators said the two suspects were wanted for an armed robbery that happened on El Verano Circle on March 11.

No further information has been released.
