(WOWK) — Winds are expected to actually become stronger overnight Monday into Tuesday morning (3/25-3/26, 2024). Some gusts could be up around 50 miles per hour in the shaded counties on the map below. County by county info can be found here. Dry air, warmer temperatures in conjunction with the higher winds also make for higher fire danger as evidenced by some brush fires in the area.

Winds will come up due to a low pressure center coming closer to the area, which increases the pressure gradient between that low and high pressure centered across the Maritime Provinces of Canada.

Wind speeds will actually jump as this gradient increases in those areas within the advisory so you may actually hear the house and outside noises due to the wind overnight.
