Police: Man arrested on his way to carry out shooting at Arkansas mall
FORT SMITH, Ark. — Police arrested a man on April 26 before he attempted to carry out a plan to kill two people at Central Mall in Fort Smith, investigators say. According to court documents, a 911 caller reported that Rodney Sheffield was on his way to Central Mall "with the intent to kill people."
Severe Threat Slices South Yet Again
The severe threat continues again Friday night in the storm-weary South. On Wednesday, a confirmed tornado touchdown in Temple, Texas, along Interstate 35 between Dallas and Austin. NWS Fort Worth gave this tornado a preliminary rating of EF-2 as the survey continued. Thursday, tornado warnings that were confirmed west of Altus, OK, and east of Waco, TX did some damage with slow storm movement. We will be awaiting storm surveys from these storms.

FORT SMITH, Ark. — According to a Fort Smith doctor, an SUV crashed into his building on Thursday, May 16, but thankfully no injuries were reported. Dr. James Kelly's office is located in the 8000 block of McClure Drive near Fort Chaffee Crossing, and according to submitted photos and statements, a Nissan SUV crashed clear through a brick wall and into his business.
