Gov. Greg Abbott visited Corpus Christi during his "Let's Roll" Get-Out-the-Vote event at Brewster Street Icehouse Oct. 20. During his brief visit, nearly 200 people heard Abbott outline his focus on border control, discuss the importance of early voting and deride his opponent, Gina Hinojosa. Before he arrived, state Rep. Denise Villalobos, R-Corpus Christi, told attendees that local Republicans should be "concerned" about the rapid growth of the Corpus Christi chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America.
