Watch: Police pursuit ends with crash in Chanhassen after shots fired

Highway camera footage shows the dramatic moment a police chase ended with a rollover crash in Chanhassen on Tuesday evening.

The South Lake Minnetonka Police Department confirmed shots were fired by officers duding the incident, which remains under investigation by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.

According to police, the incident began when officers ran a computerized registration check on a vehicle and discovered the vehicle was associated with a warrant out of Illinois.

Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop near Mill Street and Highway 7, but the driver fled, police said.

The pursuit ended just before the intersection of Highway 41 and Highway 5, with video appearing to show a pursuing officer using a PIT maneuver, tapping the rear side of the fleeing vehicle.

The suspect's vehicle went off the road and rolled before coming a rest on its side.

"Officers on scene were able to negotiate with the suspect and extricate her from the vehicle," police wrote, adding the suspect was treated at the hospital for minor injuries before being booked into the Carver County Jail.

There has been no official word yet on whether the driver fired on police.
