Victim recovering after Thursday afternoon city shooting
The Fredericksburg Police Department is investigating a shooting Thursday afternoon in the 400 block of Gates Street. Police responded to the area at approximately 4:30 p.m. after receiving a 911 call from a man who said he was shot by an unknown assailant. Patrol officers rendered first aid to the victim until EMS personnel arrived.
