    Martin’s Famous Potato Rolls and Bread expanding Franklin County facility

    Martin’s Famous Potato Rolls and Bread, a bread and rolls manufacturer, plans to invest $123.2 million to expand its existing Chambersburg manufacturing facility.

    The company will add approximately 295,000 square-feet to meet increased product demand. Work includes adding a fully air-conditioned roll production line, a cold dock/freezer, and an electric substation.

    The project will create at least 127 jobs over five years while retaining 659 positions.

    The Department of Community and Economic Development submitted a funding proposal from for a $34,000 workforce development grant to train workers and a $635,000 Pennsylvania First grant.

    The agency also encouraged Martin’s to apply for the Manufacturing Tax Credit and the Qualified Manufacturing Innovation and Reinvestment Deduction program.

    Founded in 1955, Martin’s operates two commercial baking plants, Chambersburg and a plant in Georgia.
