The Brown County Sheriff’s Office has issued a report on recent traffic incidents and citations. On November 27th, 2023, a driver from Augusta collided with a deer on IL 99. The next day, a driver from Loraine hit an electric pole on the same road and was hospitalized. On November 29th, three separate deer collisions were reported involving drivers from Versailles, Camp Point, and Clayton.

Multiple fire departments responded to the fully involved garage fire, which spread to the adjacent house. Unfortunately, one family pet perished in the fire.
