EvoDeco Next cuts material consumption
EvoDeco Next Sidel’s roll-fed solution for PET bottles allows the use of partial labels, which can reduce label surface by up to 75 percent compared with a conventional wraparound style. The integrated platform combines feeding, cutting, transfer and control. The new Cutter 2.0 rotary cutting system, positioned directly on the transfer drum, uses two blades to handle the shorter labels. The Smart Buffer is designed to absorb reel changes without variation in production speed, and the Smart Camera enables reference-mark-free label management. Dedicated software supports autocorrection, improved auto-homing and diagnostics. Other key elements have been simplified for faster changeovers, easier maintenance and consistent uptime.

AROUND TOWN: Suwanee company runner-up in national small business competition
Lisa and George Winton had to carry around a secret for the last month. Their nearly 30-year-old business, Winton Machine Company, finished second in the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Million-Dollar Pitch Competition, and got $250,000 as a result. But they could not tell anyone until the “Shark Tank”-style finale of the competition was released on YouTube and Prime Video this week. “It’s been really hard (to not share the results),” Lisa Winton told their friends on Monday night. “Some people in this room have been trying and trying to get it out of us and my answer was ‘We won, we won’ because we did. All five of us (finalists) won.” The Wintons and the SBA held a preview watch party at Gwinnett Technical College on Monday night where friends and local business leaders could see the Million-Dollar Pitch program, which was produced in Washington D.C. last month, a day before it was released to the public. “Thank you to the SBA and thank you to President Trump,” George Winton told the Daily Post after the event. “It’s been a great experience and we’re extremely appreciative.” SBA Deputy Administrator Bill Briggs was among the people who attended the special screening.
