A central Indiana teacher could win free pizza for a year and a pizza party for the entire class.

It’s all part of Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria’s plans to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week. The pizzeria will select five area teachers as finalists.

While the grand prize includes free pizza for a year (a free medium pizza each week for 52 weeks) and a $250 pizza party, the runners-up will each get a $100 Lou Malnati’s gift card.

But in order to honor those educators, the community needs to nominate them ! Nominations opened on April 22 and will remain open through May 3.

Students, parents and administrators are encouraged to nominate K-12 teachers here . They’ll be asked to write, in 100 or fewer words, the reason their favorite teacher deserves the honor.

Entries will be judged “on the criteria of originality and clear reasoning for nomination.”

“Teachers are the backbone of our local communities,” said Marc Malnati, owner of Lou Malnati’s and a second-generation family member who proudly carries on the Malnati family tradition.

“They work hard every day to give kids the tools they need to learn, grow and thrive and we’re excited to honor them and give appreciation for all they do for kids and families across Central Indiana.”
