The new 2,400-square-foot location is in the same plaza as Planet Fitness, the UPS Store, Stefanelli's Candies, Little Caesars, Galaxy Nails and Smoker Friendly. The first local Wingstop location opened at 5043 Peach St., in December. Both locations will be operated by DV & GR Enterprises LLC . The DV & GR LLC franchise of Wingstop began in Ohio and then expanded in the state with more than 25 shops. The LLC then expanded its footprint east and opened the two locations in Erie. "This franchise is growing fast and it’s time for Erie to get their piece of the wing," said David Gardner, district manager of Erie market for Wingstop. "I’m a hometown boy from Erie, so it’s great to bring this franchise here." What's on the menu at Wingstop? Wingstop's flavors of wings range from hot to mild. Do we actually need another grocery store in Erie? Dare to dream
Yes, I'm familiar with grocery store envy. My family and friends who live in the Cleveland area have their choice of any and all we have in the Erie area, as well as others, such as Trader Joe's, Lucky's, Meijer, Costco, another big one called Mustard Seed Market, and more. And that's not even counting the West Side Market, a food mecca right in downtown Ohio City, a neighborhood many would consider the beating heart of The Land, as we Cavaliers fans like to call it. These places offer what I imagine to be gargantuan selections of produce, allergen-free foods, and store-brand treats my family and friends swear by. I wish I could say "I'll pick up some lemon grass and gluten-free meatballs on my way home. Oh, and some of that (insert Trader Joe's brand treat here)." It's not that I've ever actually had call to say that or anything like it. But if I lived near one of these, you can bet I would, I imagine, say it every dang day. Do we actually NEED another grocery store in the Erie area? I don't know. But I can think of some neighborhoods that could use a good source

Franco's Cafe opens new, larger location on State Street in Erie
Franco's Cafe, formerly of the Renaissance Centre on State St., had its soft opening Feb. 3 at 416 State St. "I love it," said Larry Franco Sr., who said his son, Larry Franco Jr. will run the place. Franco Sr. has managed the business for 15 years. It took more than a year to build out the new spot, which has 1,850 square feet. The old place, tucked behind a men's clothing store, had only 850. The new place, once established, Franco Sr. said, will be open Monday through Saturday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. It has a similar menu, expanded somewhat now that they have room for fryers. It includes breakfast and lunch. "It's like night and day," he said, comparing it to the old location. Franco's was always known for its fresh salad bar, which is front and center in the new place as well.
