Black Business: Mary’s Twisted Kitchen
Mary’s Twisted Kitchen is where soul food meets a little bit of sass and a whole lot of flavor. It’s a family-owned, South Dallas gem serving up crave-worthy comfort food with a twist! It all started in a food truck, where they dished out their now-famous Smash Bowls, The Chimetime entreé, and Twisted takes on classics like chicken tenders and Philly sandwiches. People in the community couldn’t get enough, and before we knew it, they racked up awards and grew into the takeout-only kitchen you know today.

Chefs For Farmers started in 2010 as one farm dinner for about a hundred people. This week it takes over Dallas for the 16th time, and the idea hasn’t changed much. Iris Midler founded it, and every chef still gets a stipend from the festival to buy from local farms, then cooks something worth the trip.

Taste Test: Uptown’s $31 Burger
It’s called the White Burger. The name is not a literal description but a multivalent pun, referring to the “white label” custom blend of beef cuts used, the slice of white American cheese, and the chef, Michael White. White has been serving his burger in New York, London, and Washington, D.C. for years now, a casual calling card for a career that also includes Michelin stars at his past restaurants Marea and Ai Fiori. Both remain open, but White left in 2021 to consult on restaurants in New York, Miami, the Bahamas, and now Dallas.

Panda Fest Returns to Dallas With 150+ Asian Street Foods
<p>Across much of Asia, the best eating happens standing up: on a night-market lane in Taipei, at a charcoal grill in Bangkok, in the steam of a stall that has spent years perfecting a single dish. Dallas doesn’t have that infrastructure, so for one weekend it borrows the format. Panda Fest returns to Carpenter Park, 2201 Pacific Avenue in downtown Dallas, from Friday, November 6, through Sunday, November 8, 2026, with more than 60 Asian food vendors serving over 150 street food options.
