TROTWOOD, Ohio (WKEF) -- Montgomery County Municipal Court employees received active-shooter training Friday at both the Trotwood and Huber Heights courthouses. Montgomery County Clerk of Courts Mike Foley said that violence can happen anywhere, and this ALICE training -- which stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate -- ensures the safety of employees and residents in the public buildings.

City Council approves new development plans
BEAVERCREEK — City Council on Monday approved the specific site plan for a 46.9 acre residential development that has been the subject of myriad residential concerns. Grand Communities — part of northern Kentucky-based Fischer Homes — plans to build 96 single family homes on land between the intersection of Swigart and Darst roads and the 90-degree curve on Swigart west of South Fairfield Road, near the Walnut Grove and Fairfield Downs subdivisions.
Owners of the Greene get more time to respond
XENIA — The owners of the Greene in Beavercreek have been given more time to respond to a foreclosure lawsuit filed last month in Greene County Common Pleas Court. According to a June 5 filing, Greene Town Center LLC and Wells Fargo agreed to an extension of 30 days — up to and including July 15 — for the owners to answer, move, or otherwise plead in response to the original lawsuit filed May 10.
