Former Floyd Sheriff's Office Sgt. Pleads Guilty to $7k Theft
A former sergeant who headed up a youth education program in the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office pleaded guilty to stealing nearly $7,000 in funds and then attempting to cover up the theft. Proposed Rome Ordinance Requires Licensing for Gaming Machines
The owners of gaming machines, colloquially referred to as ding ding machines, would have a year to comply with a proposed Rome ordinance partially regulating the businesses that operate them. The ordinance would apply to all locations in the city that have Georgia Lottery regulated Class B coin operated amusement machines, COAMs for short. Mail Service Delays Could Impact Absentee Ballots in Floyd
Continuing issues within the United States Postal Service have prompted Floyd County’s elections director to encourage absentee voters to deliver their ballot to the elections office drop box to ensure delivery. “On behalf of the Floyd County election office, we apologize for any issues you may encounter with mail delays,” said Election Supervisor Akyn Beck. “We appreciate your cooperation while we do our best to mitigate delays beyond our control and outside our scope of practice.” ...

CARROLL COUNTY, Ga. - On May 2, a significant drug bust occurred at a residence in Temple, resulting in the arrest of two individuals. The operation, led by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Northwest Georgia Drug Task Force, involved the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Division and Haralson County Sheriff’s Office deputies.
