Enjoy the Local Colors Festival this weekend
ROANOKE, Va. – The Local Colors Festival is back this Saturday starting at 11 a.m. at Elmwood Park, and this year’s featured country is South Korea. It’s in honor of Roanoke and Wonju celebrating 60 years as a Sister City, which means they participate in cultural, educational, medical and artistic exchanges. A group from Wonju will attend the Local Colors Festival, where they’ll participate in KPOP dances and there’s even a Wonju Traditional Dance Team.

Editor’s Note: Roanoke College will welcome another delegation from Korea on Friday. This delegation is from Wonju, South Korea, one the sister cities with the City of Roanoke. Xu and the students met many of them in Korea last year as well as Dr. Kim Soo-oak, who visited in early May. ROANOKE, Va. (WSET) — One person has been hospitalized after an early-morning shooting, and the suspect is still at large, according to the Roanoke Police Department.
