Scattered showers and possible thunderstorms for Sunday. Isolated severe weather isn’t out of the question, but the overall risk is very low.
BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - Tonight won’t be as cool as the past few nights with lows in the mid-50s to low 60s. Clouds will increase during the night, then a few showers are expected in New York by daybreak. Sunday will be a fairly active day with mostly cloudy skies and scattered showers and thunderstorms. An isolated severe thunderstorm can’t be ruled out during the afternoon and early evening, but at this time the risk is low. We’ll keep an eye on the situation. There may be locally a half inch or more of rain, but flooding isn’t expected. Highs will be in the 70s.

Average first fall freeze is likely in high elevation towns within the next month
BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - Sunday morning was chilly across Vermont and the North Country. Lows were in the low 50s and mid-to-upper 40s across the region. Saranac Lake even managed to drop as cold as 38 degrees! While nights that chilly are not that uncommon, they’re still an exception to the rule.

Scattered thunderstorms today ahead of some nicer weather
BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) -Happy Thursday! We saw a few showers and thunderstorms overnight, and we’ll hang onto the chance for more showers and thunderstorms through the day ahead. There could be a few hit-or-miss showers this morning, but I think the better chance of a few showers and thunderstorms will be this afternoon. I suspect once again that a thunderstorm or two could be on the stronger side potentially featuring gusty winds and maybe some small hail. High temperatures for Thursday head back into the mid and upper 70s. Most showers should wrap up through the first part of the night ahead as lows dip into the 50s.
