Wildfire burns hundreds of acres south of Maricopa
MARICOPA, AZ (AZFamily) — Over 300 hundred acres have been burned following a fast-moving wildfire Thursday in Pinal County. The fire broke out around 1 p.m. near SR 347 and Miller Road, about nine miles south of Maricopa. The Arizona Dept. of Forestry and Fire Management reported that multiple crews responded, including a hand crew, engine and air attack.

Two arrested after trash fire spreads to home
TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office says two men are facing charges for starting a fire that likely destroyed their neighbor’s home. PCSO says they responded to a house fire Tuesday, April 23 near north Pava Lane and east Rolling Ridge Road in San Tan Valley.
Maricopa Association of Governments brings back its Heat Relief Network map
Temperatures are warming up this week and in anticipation of triple-digit heat, organizations around the Valley are preparing. Starting Wednesday, the Maricopa Association of Governments, along with partner organizations will drop its Heat Relief Network map. The map will include the locations of hydration stations, water donations sites and indoor respite centers. The goal of the Network is to prevent heat-related illnesses and deaths. Last summer, the Valley experienced record-breaking temperatures, which led to hundreds of heat-related deaths.
