(Brian Montgomery) Yesterday in a ribbon-cutting ceremony, Mississippi Ag Commissioner Andy Gipson called this venture a “win, win, win,” and truer words have never been spoken, as Ag Line opened their new location yesterday with MS Band of Choctaw Indians Chief Cyrus Ben, Ag Commissioner Andy Gipson, and Ag Line’s President Denton Gibbes and operating manager Matt Kennedy in attendance. The event was hosted by the Main Street Chamber of Leake County, and Executive Director Dakota Presley, and was attended by many, including representatives from the MS Band of Choctaw Indians (MBCI). Carthage Mayor Laurie Henderson and Alderman Britt Barnes, to name a few.
Abusive calls to emergency phone and other recent Kosciusko arrests
On 12-5-2023, Gregory Taylor, a 57 year old w/m from Kosciusko was arrested for Abusive Calls to Emergency Phone on Highway 12 East by Lt. Jose Martinez. On 11-25-2023, Larziah Hall, a 30 year old b/m from Kosciusko, was arrested for Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony) and False Identifying Information on Arrowhead Drive by Captain James Ward.

A ribbon cutting for AgLine Distributing & Equipment was held earlier this week with Mississippi's Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce Andy Gipson in attendance. The Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians' industrial space in Leake County has received a facelift and a new tenant in the 120,000 square foot facility in Carthage.

Leake Academy Teams Sweep Lamar School in Madden
The Leake Academy varsity basketball teams were back at Joe F. Sheppard Gymnasium tonight hosting the Lamar School Raiders and both the Lady Rebels and Rebels came away with a win. The Lady Rebels were up by 21 points at halftime, 36-15 and continued to dominate in the second half winning the game by 39 points, 75-36. With tonight’s win the Lady Rebels improve their season record to 11-2 overall and 2-0 in 5A-District 2 play.
