On the average May is the second wettest month of the year for Indianapolis. We average 4.75″ of rain for the month and we’ve had almost three inches of rain so far this month. One to three inches of rain has fallen across most of central Indiana this week and minor flooding has already started.

It’s no secret that May is an active one on average. It’s the second wettest month annually for the City of Indianapolis with 4.75″ of rain on average. The last two days in Indianapolis had just under 2.0″ of rain with higher reports in some spots. We started the month in a rain deficit, now we are in a surplus JUST from the two days of heavy rain.
