Donald is back on the festival calendar after a four-year hiatus. Organizers of the Donald Daze Hazelnut Festival announced recently that they are re-kickstarting the popular event this year following four years of dormancy spurred by the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2024 return festival is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 13, with the Hazelnut Parade down Main St. The public is invited to turn out and celebrate community cars and family fun on that day.
Police looking for pickup truck and driver in Hillsboro fatal crash
Officials in Washington County are trying to identify a dark-colored pickup truck after the truck allegedly struck and killed a pedestrian last week. On Thursday at 10:08 p.m., officers from the Hillsboro Police Department were called to Southeast Tualatin Valley Highway and Southeast Minter Bridge Road after a pedestrian was injured. Medical personnel arrived and attempted to save the pedestrian, officials said, but the person died.
