Juvenile arrested in major Stark County drug bust

CANTON , Ohio (WJW) — During a “major” Tuesday drug bust, Stark County authorities arrested a 21-year-old man as well as a juvenile and seized pounds of methamphetamine and suspected fentanyl and cocaine.

The Stark County Sheriff’s Office’s narcotics unit, Canton SWAT team and Canton police searched a home in the 1200 block of Shriver Street Northeast on Tuesday, March 26, according to a news release.

Authorities seized 2 pounds of methamphetamine as well as suspected fentanyl and cocaine, a handgun and more than $8,000 in cash.

They also arrested Karee McCarroll, 21, of Canton on felony drug trafficking and possession charges as well as a weapons violation.

A juvenile arrested during the bust is expected to face similar charges, excluding the weapons charge, according to the release.

“This drug enforcement operation highlights our commitment to dismantling drug trafficking networks and ensuring the safety and well-being of our communities,” Stark County Sheriff George Maier is quoted in the release. “Through collaboration with local law enforcement partners, the Metro Narcotics Unit continues to make significant strides in the fight against drug-related crime in Stark County.”

McCarroll was arraigned Thursday in Canton Municipal Court and is now being held on a $250,000 bond, court records show. His case is set to go back before the judge on April 4.
