Strong Friday front: gusty winds, showers, falling temperatures
Temperatures will be on the warm side overnight and early Friday morning, but we expect a significant plunge during the midday and afternoon. Readings near 70 at the start of the day will be replaced by mid 50s by late afternoon; a gusty wind will make it feel even cooler. Rain showers will come and go Friday; the forecast includes an outside chance for thunder during the morning. Taking in a high school football game Friday evening? Plan on a brisk and chilly evening with a good chance for rain showers.

A soggy Friday followed by a chilly and even frosty weekend
A soggy day on Friday will usher in some big temperature changes for the weekend. After a beautiful and seasonable Thursday, clouds will build late in the day and into the night ahead of our next threat for rain. Showers will turn widespread between sunset and midnight, and a thunderstorm can’t be ruled out either.

More rain on the way before a big temperature drop
The 80-degree days didn’t want to go away for good, but Tuesday very well might be the final 80-degree day of 2026. Tuesday’s high temperatures will peak in the low to mid 80s. Our official forecasted high temperature at the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport is 83 degrees; that would tie the daily high temperature record for October 13th, which was set back in 1969. If we record at least 83 degrees, it would be the warmest October day since 2023.
