Angels Camp, CA — The Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee wrapped on Sunday after seeing beautiful weather throughout the weekend and a strong crowd on hand. The top jump in the International Frog Jump on the main stage was Lilian Fasano’s frog, The Frog Father, with a leap of 20 feet and 5.5 inches. Fasano, in her eighties, is a long-time participant who is one of the founders of the Gustine Frog Team which was started back in the 1950s.
Deadline Approaching For Mother Lode Fair Entry Forms
Sonora, CA — The deadline is coming this Friday, May 24, for Still Exhibits and Junior Livestock entry forms to be submitted for this summer’s Mother Lode Fair. The theme for the 2024 fair, to be held June 27-30, is “85 Years of Mines, Mills, and Memories.”
TUD Reaches Significant Milestone
Sonora, CA — Tuolumne Utilities District (TUD) says it has reached a milestone in its Longeway Loop Water Main Project to enhance the water distribution system. District officials relay that the project is in its final stages, with 2,000 lineal feet of new 10” water main installed and paving completed.

Tuolumne, CA — Change is in the air at the Black Oak Casino Resort in regards to its sports bar area, and there are also plans announced for new kids offerings. The Mill Sports Bar & Grill situated next to the bowling alley is closing this month and it will be replaced in June by a new pizza restaurant, The Charlie.

Jamestown, CA — A Jamestown woman was handcuffed after she was found with ammunition and pepper spray, items she is not allowed to have due to earlier arrests. While Tuolumne County Deputies were recently patrolling in the Jamestown area, they spotted 46-year-old Angela Michelle Means walking along Jamestown Road. Deputies ran a records check on her, revealing Means had a felony warrant for her arrest related to drugs.
