ST MARYS, W.Va. (WTRF)– Wheeling Central Softball defeated St Marys 2-1 on the road Tuesday to push the Sectional Series to Game 3. Josie Frizzel pitched seven strong innings of 1-run ball (not earned) with eight strikeouts. The series will return to Wheeling Wednesday evening for a ‘winner-take-all-game.’

On Wednesday, Wheeling Central Catholic faced St. Marys in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Wheeling Central Catholic Maroon Knights lost 9-0 to the St. Marys Blue Devils. Wheeling Central Catholic was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as St. Marys apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played last Tuesday.

MARYS – In game one of the best-of-three regional championship series between St. Marys and Wheeling Central, Blue Devils’ pitcher Cali Masters threw a no-hitter en route to a 3-0 victory against the Maroon Knights. Game two was also a well-pitched affair, but this time St. Marys fell to Central by a final of 2-1, forcing a winner-takes-all game three in Wheeling on Wednesday.
