Get Up Close & Personal With Hummingbird Banding Event
Photo: Six year old Molly Blackburn of Camden gets a chance to release a ruby-throated hummingbird at the 2024 event along with her mother Nicole Blackburn. Volunteers Mitz and Lora Ann Bailey guide the release process and give them a certificate complete with collected information about the bird and band number as part of the Friends of Tennessee NWR “Adopt-a-Hummingbird” program. Attendees to the 2024 Annual Hummingbird event can Adopt-a-Hummingbird for $10. All proceeds go towards future environmental education programming at the refuge.
